Publications from the Pavel Šmok Institute Still Available

Are they missing from your dance library? The lavishly illustrated books published by the Pavel Šmok Institute and Endowment Fund in recent years are just a few clicks away—you can order them conveniently by email.

Discover the story of the Ballet Prague company, which embodied the new wave of choreography in the 1960s and brought Pavel Šmok to Basel, Switzerland: in the publication (Studio Ballet Prague) – The New Wave of Czechoslovak Choreography. The entire life story of Pavel Šmok as a creator and artist consumed by movement and a desire to tell stories through dance is presented in the publication Pavel Šmok – A Choreographer with the Soul of a Poet. We have not forgotten his colleague Luboš Ogoun, with whom he founded the Balet Praha company. Although their paths diverged after a few years, with 2025 marking the 100th anniversary of Ogoun’s birth, we decided to dedicate a monograph to him as well: Luboš Ogoun – Star of the Brno Ballet. You can find all publications on this page, but they are available in Czech only: institutpavlasmoka.cz/publikace/
