We would greatly appreciate any support from companies and patrons, who will thus help to map the history of Czechoslovak ballet and preserve the memory of the leading figures in this field.

While our main focus is placed on the artistic legacy of choreographer Pavel Šmok, we also aim to explain the conditions surrounding the development of Czechoslovak and later Czech ballet art after WW II. New facts, information, and materials are waiting to be discovered and presented to the audience. While ballet is a living art that exists here and now, the legacy of artists and performers who were active in the past remains relevant for the future.

• One of our goals is to create a comprehensive database of physical and digital materials, photographs, brochures, and other writings. This also involves the conservation and preservation of audio or video recordings from the 1960s to the present.
• Naturally, we are eager to share the noteworthiest items with the public, and not only through this website. We also intend to make documentaries and publish new books, organize meets and greets with dancers and other artists, and thus offer you opportunities to savour live art and events. Many challenges lie ahead!
• The fist phase consists in processing and cataloguing Pavel Šmok’s estate, which task alone will undoubtedly take us several years. Your support allows us to devote more time and energy to this work and engage new collaborators.
