Set Designer Jan Dušek Has Died
Set designer, costume designer, and DAMU professor Jan Dušek died on Monday, December 1, at the age of 83. This year, he received the Thalia Award for his extraordinary contribution to Czech theater arts.
During his career, Jan Dušek created more than five hundred set and costume designs and collaborated with most Czech and Slovak theaters. His work was regularly presented at the Prague Quadrennial and won numerous awards. He also collaborated with Pavel Šmok and created the set design for Petr Zuska’s award-winning production of Kytice for the Prague Chamber Ballet in 2018.
