Winner of the 10th and 12th seasons of StarDance, winner of the 2019 Thalia Award, four-time runner-up in the Czech Republic in Latin American and standard dances, and graduate of the Prague Dance Center Conservatory, Dominik Vodička—this versatile artist will be the guest of our next discussion.
Dominik Vodička won the hearts of television viewers with his participation and success in the StarDance show, but his background is in theater. Last season, he returned to the role of the Man in the Prague Chamber Ballet’s production of Kytice/The Bouquet. The successful title of choreographer Patra Zuska earned Dominik the Thalia Award and became the highlight of his career as a dancer on the theater stage.
However, Dominik has always belonged to the world of ballroom and sports dancing. He co-wrote a book about his passion, Dancing with Love, was selected for the 2020 Forbes 30 Under 30 list, and is primarily involved in lecturing and teaching.
We will talk about his two great loves—two worlds of dance that today seem separate, but personalities like Dominik show that this does not have to be the case.
How does he remember his career with the Prague Chamber Ballet, and what does it mean to him? What led him to write the book? What was his journey to both of his dream worlds of dance like? How did he combine studying ballet with other disciplines? Does he ever miss the theater? And how does his family fit into this world?
Come and chat with us, get inspired, and ask your own questions. There’s room for everyone.
